Easy Breakfast

I love to eat and I love sharing recipes that we enjoy in our home. My hope is share weekly, so please check back often.

First up, Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats. Steel Cut Oats are a staple in our pantry and when we get low I always add more to our grocery list, just be sure it’s NOT the quick cook kind.

We usually make a batch of oatmeal once a week and it feeds all 6 of us, with some leftovers.

My personal favorite way to eat Steel Cut Oats is with some peanut butter, honey, hemps seeds and blueberries or strawberries. Each kid enjoys customizing their own.

A few suggested toppings: Peanut butter or almond butter, raisins, bananas, blueberries, apples, strawberries, brown sugar or honey, hemp seeds…and so on. It’s a crowd-pleaser over here. I hope you enjoy the simplicity and the yumminess!

Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats

A super easy, yummy, cozy, and healthy breakfast that is a crowd-pleaser.

  • Instant Pot
  • 2 Cups Steel Cut Oats (Not Quick Cook)
  • 5 Cups Water
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  1. Dump 2 cups of Steel Cut Oats and five cups of water into your Instant Pot.

  2. Add in salt, vanilla, and cinnamon. Give it a quick stir.

  3. Seal your Instant Pot and cook at high pressure for four minutes and then let the pressure naturally release. Usually takes 20 – 30 minutes.

  4. Once it is done press the pressure release valve to be sure all the pressure is gone. Stir your oatmeal, if it looks like all the liquid didn’t absorb just let sit for a few more minutes.

  5. Add whatever toppings you desire and enjoy!

*I love adding peanut butter/almond butter to my oatmeal for some extra protein and some healthy fat. Plus, it makes it tastes extra yummy.
