When I have a hard time getting young kids to look or smile at me, I usually tell them something along the lines of…

“Don’t you dare look at me!”

OR

“Don’t even think about smiling!”

With kids I almost alway have great success.

Well, I tried this technique on Tim, and concluded that it does not work on dads.  I guess it’s back to the drawing boards.
