On Fridays this year I plan to share things that I’m loving. So be sure to visit me each Friday and maybe you’ll read about something that you can add to your list of favorite things. These things will be all over the board and basically just stuff that I’ve been using in my daily life that I’ve been excited about and want to shout from the rooftops.
So here we go…
At the beginning of the year one of my goals was to read more. I even made a goal to read 24 books this year, 2 a month to be exact. With Karlyanne and Clay to keep me busy I find it really hard to carve out time to read. My solution, audiobooks. I can listen to them while making dinner, while driving Karlyanne to school, while cleaning, when I’m on a walk…and the list goes on. Now, I could buy audiobooks but that would get really expensive pretty quick, so instead I’ve downloaded the Overdrive app on my iPhone and iPad. This app links to your local library. Yes, your local library most likely has an extensive catalog of audiobooks. It’s also pretty easy to set up. All you need to do is get a library card and set up your account. Then start browsing and downloading books. I’ve found a pretty large range of books and have listened to a good amount already. Some of the more popular books will have a waitlist but just request them and they’ll email you when it’s your turn.
Thanks to my older sister, Emily, for turning me on to this app. It has been a game changer for me!
Happy Friday, everyone!
Clay still prefers real hardback books, as do I, but he has a little less responsibility and a lot more time on his hands.
